Leigh Oxley Du Preez has made it her life’s mission to helping the white people in South Africa who are living as white refugees in their own country. Hit by massive unemployment due to racism in the workplace, with no way to make a living and no welfare system, millions of people have become displaced and impoverished in their own country. People have been kicked off their land and killings of white land owners and land grabs are daily realities for white land owners. Many shanty towns have thus popped up and if it wasn’t for projects like the South African Family Relief Project, many of these people would simply not survive.
The project relies solely on the kind and generous donations from people who’ve become aware of the desperate and deadly situation in South Africa, and watching this video in the link below is admittedly hard to watch, so viewer discretion is advised.
Conscious Consumer Network‘s Creative Director Mel Ve and Broadcaster Eilish De Avalon chat with Leigh Oxley Du Preez about the current situation over there with the land grab currently taking place against white land owners on Monday 11 pm GMT on We Are The Ones We’ve Been Waiting For.
