Child Abuse Survivors Brendan and JP Byrne were forced in to full custody of their abusive father and deprived from their Protective Mother for 18 years.

Brendan and JP Byrne were separated from their mother when they were just 10 and 12 years of age. Against their will and their mother’s will, they were forced into full custody of their abusive father. Through emotional and physical abuse their father ensured that they were completely alienated from their mother to the point of no contact. It would be 18 years before they were reunited with their mother as adults.

In an effort to raise awareness and to highlight the adversity that is faced by children who are separated from a loving parent, JP and Brendan have written a memoir about their experience entitled Don’t Hug Your Mother. Brendan Byrne will be interviewed live on the show, where he will discuss the book and how it might help children who are separated from a loving parent and indeed aid loving parents who are separated from their child.

Brendan states “When my parents separated, I was 8 years old and I was delighted that JP and I were to be placed in the custody of my mother. Life was good for a period until I heard my father shouting at my mother that he was going to take JP and me back to live with him. I desperately didn’t want this, since my mother was loving and caring, while he was not. However, shortly after my 10th birthday, we were ordered to return to live with him. My mother was distraught and I was miserable. The rest of my childhood was spent being demeaned and abused by my father and his considerably younger new partner, whom I was forced to address as “Mum” as if my real mother no longer existed.”

Brendan Byrne is Co-Author of Don’t Hug Your Mother and a keen activist aiming to raise awareness about the need to sustain human rights for every child and parent during a family breakup. Brendan believes that leaving a child in the custody of an abuser is a violation of the human rights of children, as evidenced in the memoir written by him and his brother. Their book is available on Amazon and their website is here.

So what is a Protective Mother? A Protective Mother tries to protect her child or children from their abusive father by many means necessary, which is an uphill battle in today’s corrupt global Family Court system that thrives on paternal entitlement. Maternal Deprivation at the hands of abusive fathers has reached pandemic proportions! However, Protective Mothers worldwide are uniting to fight for the right to keep their children in what could be called a new Civil Rights movement.

Professional Fine Artist and College Professor Geerte Frenken is a Protective Mother fighting for her court-abducted daughter Jasmijn. She is the host of the CCN Live TV show HELL IS FOR CHILDREN about the global plight of Protective Mothers and their children that airs every Saturday at 3PM Eastern Time (21:00 Central European Time). Recordings of the shows are made available via youtube within a few days after each Live broadcast and are archived HERE as well.
